According to law enforcement, U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark’s daughter reportedly attacked a Boston Police officer while attempting to arrest her for defacing a monument on the Boston Common on Saturday night.

Riley Dowell, 23, of Melrose, was marking the Parkman Bandstand Monument with “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB” during a weekend protest, according to Boston Police.

As Police sought to arrest her, a group of about 20 demonstrators “surrounded policemen while yelling profanities through megaphones on the public roadway, causing traffic to come to a halt,” according to Police.

“An officer was punched in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth while interfering with Jared Dowell’s arrest,” Boston Police said in a statement on Sunday.

She was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, personal property destruction or injury, and property damage by graffiti or tagging.

Earlier this month, during the fight over whether to select Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, Clark spoke out against political radicalism while pointing fingers at the Republican Party.

Dowell is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court, according to Police.

Clark verified her daughter’s arrest in Boston in a message posted on social media Sunday afternoon.

“I adore Riley, and this is a tough period in the parenting cycle of pleasure and agony,” Clark wrote on Twitter. “The judicial system will examine this, and I am confident in that process.”

Boston Police also stated that at around 10:30 pm, Andrea Colletti, 27, of Brighton, was apprehended near the Parkman Bandstand Monument on Saturday after attempting to leave on foot.

“She was brought under custody after a brief fight,” law authorities stated. Colletti was charged with property damage by graffiti or tagging, destruction or harm to personal property, and resisting arrest.

Colletti is also scheduled to appear in Boston Municipal Court. About an hour after Dowell, another individual was arrested in Boston for graffiti and resisting Police.

Andrea Colletti, 27, was apprehended by authorities following a brief foot pursuit. Colletti fought officers briefly before being taken in handcuffs.

Meanwhile, Antifa protests in Atlanta became violent on Saturday, with rioters armed with explosives yelling, “I can’t breathe,” as Police apprehended them after torching cars, tossing pyrotechnics, and shattering windows with hammers.
