Ronald Reagan resides in Seattle. In 1980, he wed clinical psychologist Doria Palmieri. In 2014 Doria passed away due to neuromuscular illness. They didn’t have any kids. In July 2018, he married Federica Basagni.

In a 2004 New York Times interview, Reagan claimed he did not claim any particular religion but had Buddhist affinities and that his wife was a Buddhist.

In an interview with CNN’s Larry King Live on June 23, 2004, Ron Reagan said, “I’m an atheist, I can’t get elected to anything because surveys all say that people won’t elect an atheist,” when explaining why he would not run for political office.

He was added to the Honorary Board for outstanding achievements of the Freedom From Religion Foundation in February 2010.
