In 2021, the talented player was once again called to the Paris Saint-Germain squad for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

On 17 June, the Paris native committed to a three-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain that would last through 30 June 2025.

Gharbi was born in France. He has Tunisian and Spanish heritage through his parents, so he is eligible to represent three countries on an international football field.

Ismael has previously received a call-up from the France under-17 team. In the past, the Tunisian Football Federation tried to persuade Gharbi to play for them.

He also received a call-up to represent France’s under-18 team in the Tournoi International de Limoges in 2021.
