Ismael Massoud’s personal life, especially Ismael Massoud parents, has received a lot of attention as he enters the great scenes in style.

Ismael Massoud, a rising basketball star, was born in Madrid, Spain, on May 6, 2000. 

His parents are Hany Massoud and Alicia Rodriguez-Barrera, and he has four siblings – Sofian, Zakariah, Qasim, and Aminah.

Ismael’s legal guardian is his stepmom, Ayesha Hoda.

Basketball runs in Ismael’s family, as his mother, Alicia Rodriguez-Barrera, played college basketball in Houston.

Moreover, she was a starter for the Cougars as a junior and senior in 1996-97 and 1997-98. 

Additionally, Ismael’s brother, Sofian, is a talented quarterback for Hampton University.

Ismael’s basketball skills caught the attention of numerous college programs, and he received offers from as many as 24 schools. 

His finalists were Harvard, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Rutgers, and Wake Forest. Ultimately, Ismael chose to play for Wake Forest, where he made a name for himself on the court.

During his high school career, Ismael played for PSA Cardinals under the guidance of head coach Terrence “Munch” Williams on the EYBL circuit. 

He averaged 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game and played alongside current NBA players Cole Anthony (Orlando Magic), James Bouknight (Charlotte Hornets), and Tyson Etienne (Atlanta Hawks).

Ismael’s academic interests lie in human development and family sciences, and he is pursuing this major at Wake Forest. 

With his talent on the court and dedication to his education, Ismael Massoud is a promising young athlete with a bright future ahead of him.

Ismael Massoud Career Highlights

Ismael Massoud began his college basketball career at Wake Forest, where he played for two seasons from 2019-2021.

He transferred to Kansas State for the 2021-22 season and has seen action in 84 career games with 26 starts at Wake Forest and K-State.

Throughout his career, Massoud has scored 542 points, averaging 6.5 points per game on 36.1 percent shooting from the field.

He has been a reliable 3-point shooter, hitting 105 shots from beyond the arc on 35.2 percent shooting. Massoud has also been solid from the free throw line, connecting on 79.1 percent of his attempts.

Massoud has shown an ability to score in double digits, achieving this feat in 22 career games, including a career-high 31-point performance against Pittsburgh on January 23, 2021, while at Wake Forest.

He doubled his career double-digit scoring games with 11 in the 2021-22 season.

Massoud’s sharpshooting was on full display in his career-best game against Pittsburgh, where he made eight 3-pointers on just ten attempts, tying the Wake Forest school record for 3-pointers made in a regulation game.

This also represents the best percentage from the 3-point range in school history.
