According to NHL Tv, Eichel had to undergo surgery after herniated a disk in his neck following a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders. The Sabres were defeated in their seventh consecutive game and eventually lost the eighteenth straight. 

With this, he was initially predicted to miss seven to ten days, but a timeline quickly demonstrated unrealistically. He traveled to a medical expert for the medication to determine its severity.

Jack’s doctors suggested a surgical procedure no NHL player has experienced, artificial disk replacement. Since health treatment was extreme, he needed proper rest and care.

Jack Eichel Health Update: When Will He Return To Field?

As Jack Eichel’s health update depended on his return to the game, many people were following and questioning the same. As he said, the injury was not season-ending, and he declined to give an updated recovery timeline. 

During the early treatment phase, Sabres coach Ralph Krueger announced Eichel would remain out for the “foreseeable future.”

Sabres general manager Adams informed Jack failed his physical ability and would begin the 2021-22 season on injured reserve because he “will not accept Sabres’ desire for fusion surgery.”

Earlier this year, he returned to the field even though many people believe that his health condition may not be a hundred percent fit.
