Hooks is best remembered for her time spent as a regular cast member on the NBC sketch comedy program Saturday Night Live, where she appeared from 1986 until 1991.

Jan Hooks Husband: Was She Married?
Jan Hooks Husband has been a topic of interest for people. According to some websites, she was dating her “Saturday Night Live” co-star Kevin Nealon but had never been married.
These kinds of rumors are quite common in their life as celebrities. According to one site, Hooks has had two marriages. From 1987 to 1998, she was wed to actor and comedian Phil Hartman.
Stephen Stills, an actor and filmmaker, is her current husband. Jan was the owner of a farmhouse in upstate New York and an apartment in New York. Up until she permanently relocated to the farmhouse, she alternated between the two locations.
A malignant node was found in her throat not long after she relocated. Doctors urged her to have a laryngectomy because the tumor didn’t respond to chemotherapy.
Jan did not, however, receive the therapy. Instead, she kept up her smoking and drinking habits until her cancer had advanced too far.

Jan had a close friendship with Kevin Nealon, her co-star on “Saturday Night Live,” whom she had met at an audition.
The two professed their love for each other after years of friendship and addressed each other by their nicknames (“Kevers” and “Janners”).
Jan had found comfort in Kevin’s presence after losing her mother just before beginning her run on “Saturday Night Live.”
While they co-hosted the show, their romance evolved. Unfortunately, after dating for so long, they split up. They continued to be close until Jan’s passing, nevertheless.
Early Life Of Hooks
Hooks was born and reared in Decatur, Georgia, where she went to Towers High School and Canby Lane Elementary School.
She relocated to Fort Myers, Florida during her junior year of high school in 1974 after her father, a Sears employee, was transferred.
She graduated in 1975 from Cypress Lake High School and made her theatrical debut in a play. While attending Edison State College, she majored in theater but left to focus solely on performing.
Due to liver damage, Hooks’ doctor ordered her to stop drinking, but she did not attempt. In February 2009, she received a leukemia diagnosis; after treatment, it entered remission in May.
She passed away from throat cancer on October 9 at age 57. Her remains were buried in Cedartown, Georgia’s Northview Cemetery.
On October 12, 2014, the Simpsons episode “Super Franchise Me” dedicated a tribute to her by recognizing her longtime character Manjula Nahasapeemapetilon in the credits.
