Jay Bloom disclosed that OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush tried to convince him to take seats on the Titan submarine with his son in May 2023.
But that trip was delayed until 18 June due to weather-related issues. Jay and Sean were reportedly offered last-minute tickets with discounts. However, Jay was concerned about safety.
The Las Vegas businessman said when he expressed safety concerns, OceanGate boss said there is a risk; still, it is safer than flying in a helicopter or scuba diving.
Mr. Bloom stated that Stockton was absolutely convinced that it was safer than crossing a road. “I’m sure he believed what he was saying.” But he was completely wrong. He was enthusiastic about what he was doing,” added Jay Bloom.
