Born Jesus Alejandro Ramos, Jesus Ramos was welcomed by his father, Jesus Ramos Sr. and his mother, whose name is unknown.

The young boxer hails from a family of boxers. Many of his family members, including his father, brother and uncle, are involved in boxing.

His trainer is his dad, uncle (Efrain), and many other former fighters. Ramos grew up around boxing and has been training since he was a little boy.

“My whole life has been around boxing,” said the young boxer in an interview. He also disclosed that he was always around when his uncles trained in their garage.

His Father also played a vital role in his boxing career. Ramos’dad used to take older kids than him and made him spar with them.

Jesus Alejandro said he got bored with boxing at four but returned for training. His Father also gave him a year to determine whether he wanted to pursue boxing.

Meet Boxer Jesus Ramos Brother, Abel Ramos

It is unclear whether the skilled boxer Jesus Ramos has any siblings. However, he has an uncle, Abel Ramos, who is also a famous fighter.

Abel Ramos is ten years older than Jesus Ramos. Abel began his amateur career when Jesus was only three years old.

Moreover, Jesus Ramos’ Father, Jesus Ramos Sr., is Abel Ramos’ brother. Jesus said that he began sparring with Abel when he was 15.

In a talk with the New York Times, the 23-year-old boxer said Abel had a profound influence on him, and his career was a huge inspiration.

“I was with him for all the local shows in Phoenix, small fights that meant a lot to us because my uncle was a pro.” And he was fighting small fights on small cards, but being small and just looking at him made me think he was fighting significant [events], said Ramos.

“It really inspired me; after his fights, I’d come home and just sit in my room, shadowboxing. Stay in my room and practice shadowboxing, imagining myself in his shoes,” added the undefeated super welterweight prospect.

Boxer Jesus Ramos Career Details

Ramos won most of his 55 amateur matches. He ranked third in a 2015 Silver Gloves tournament earning back-to-back Junior Olympics titles in 2013 and 2014.

Ramos made his pro debut in May 2018 in Agua Prieta, Sonoro, Mexico, with an 88-second knockout of Luis Romero in a 145-pound bout, the 17-year-first old’s of seven consecutive stoppages in two rounds or less.

There was also an 84-second knockout of Antonio Vergara in October and second-round knockouts of Martin Sosa in June, Miguel Angel Salmeron in August, Jose Roberto Garcia in September, and Hugo Montoya and Rudolfo Lopez in October, the last two separated by 21 days.

Ramos stopped Ivan Chavela Resendiz in the second round in February 2019. He knocked out fellow fighter Joey Spencer on Saturday’s match.

According to Boxing Scene, he dropped Spencer late in the first round and was undoubtedly winning. But Joey made their fight competitive during the previous four rounds.
