Furthermore, Tweto built fishing boats in the 1980s naming his company Gussik Ventures. His boats were adopted by the locals, and he built almost three-quarters of the fishing boats in the region.

In 1990, Jim and Ferno’s small company combined with Hageland Aviation, and in 2008, with Era Alaska and Tweto became the COO of Era. Currently, the world is mourning the death of Jim, as he passed away on June 16, 2023.

Jim Tweto died in a plane crash, and the video has been searched by many people. The crash occurred about 35 miles (60km) northeast of Shaktoolik, Alaska.

Alaska state troopers said they were told Tweto’s Cessna 180 crashed at about 11:50 am. People reportedly saw the airplane take off but failed to climb to altitude before colliding.

Furthermore, the deadly crash killed Jim and his passenger Shane Reynolds of Idaho. Alaska state troopers recovered both men’s bodies, and authorities notified their families.

Jim Tweto was an American businessman and reality tv star who gained widespread recognition for appearing in a hit reality tv show named Flying Alaska. 

Tweto appeared in the show along with his wife and their three kids. The hit Discovery Channel reality series followed the family as they operated a small regional airline named Era Alaska, serving remote communities.

Being the COO of Era Alaska, they later merged with Frontier Flying Service in 2009 to become the largest regional airline in Alaska. Talking about his college days, Tweto started shifting his focus to aviation rather than sports as he played hockey.

After shifting to aviation, he relocated to Unalakleet, Alaska, to focus on flying in the early 80s. In 1984, with his commercial certificate, Tweto started flying for Ferno’s father, who owned a small airline.

Jim Tweto Age: A Look at Pilot Family Life

The age of Jim Tweto was 68 at the time of his death after a plane crash. He was born on November 26, 1954, to his parents in Wichita, Kansas. His parents, whose names have not been shared with the media, raised Tweto in Silver Bay, Minnesota.

During his early days, Tweto was an avid hockey player and even won a hockey scholarship to the University of Alaska-Anchorage. Furthermore, he moved to Alaska just at the age of 18.

Further information regarding his siblings and other family members remains unknown, but we can be clear that he was a married man. Tweto is survived by his beloved wife, Ferno Tweto, whom he married in 1988.

Likewise, the married duo had started a family of their own and welcomed three kids, all daughters named Elaine Tweto, Ayla Tweto and Ariel Tweto.
