Molitor claimed that the running back and his teammates harassed her and her friends outside a store.

The security footage revealed that Mixon followed Molitor into the shop. Soon after, they got into an argument. Molitor then shoved and slapped Mixon in the face.

The footballer then punched her, forcing her to tumble into a table. After the event, Molitor needed surgery since the blow and the following fall had broken four bones in her face.

Molitor asserted that Mixon’s homophobic insult toward her and her friends after following them into the store worsened the situation.

The Bengals running back claimed that Molitor’s friend had used a racial epithet against him and that Mixon had retaliated by using a homophobic epithet.

On February 2015, a county judge said that the City of Norman was not required to make the video public. The judge decided that the video should not be made public because no arrest is depicted under open records legislation.

Numerous media outlets filed lawsuits against the city for failing to fulfill their demands for access to public records.

A year later, the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals ruled the district court’s justification for withholding the footage was incorrect.

Amelia Molitor Filed A Lawsuit Against Joe Mixon

On 22 July 2016, Molitor filed a lawsuit in federal court against Mixon, charging Mixon with carelessness, willful and wanton wrongdoing, and purposeful infliction of emotional distress.

On 21 April 2017, both parties reached a joint settlement for the civil suit.

Besides the assault case, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops suspended Joe for one game following a confrontation between Mixon and a parking valet in 2016.

Mixon confronted the attendant after obtaining a parking ticket, tore it in half, and hurled the pieces. The incident report states that he subsequently “inched at the officer” with his car “to scare the Police.”
