Joe Pyfer Career Highlights

Joe Pyfer began his professional career in May 2018. The American mixed martial artist was the only fighter to win the UFC contract in the first week of DWCS (Dana White’s Contender) season 6.

Joe earned the highly-sought contract by the UFC after his impressive second-round TKO finish against Osman Diaz. In addition, Pyfer was the only person who defecated Osman Diaz in his years-long career.

Before debuting at DWCS, “Bodybagz” competed for AOW, Ring Of Combat (ROC), and CES MMA. The American has held the title of middleweight in the ROC before.

Pyfer also participated at DCWS 2020. However, he had to step back as he suffered a severe elbow injury during the event’s second week.

Joe Pyfer opened up about overcoming his unsuccessful initial effort at the DWCS to ultimately gain a contract in the sixth season of the UFC feeder program in his post-fight interview at Dana White’s Contender Series 47.

“Bodybagz” claimed that he was blessed to have supportive mentors who helped him emerge from despair and self-pity to become the fighter he is now:

He said he grew up a lot and was not the same person as during the 2020 DWSC.

“You know, I’ve had individuals mentor and guide me. I felt frustrated and wondered, ‘Why me?’ the self-pity stuff. You know, I’ve gone through despair and suicidal thoughts a few times… Luckily, I had nice enough people around me,” added Pyfer.

Nonetheless, Joe Pyfer has established himself as one of the best professional fighters in the UFC. We wish the Philadephia native a more prosperity in the coming days.
