Jonathan Magana Shot 3 Officer – ******** Incident Explained

The events that unfolded on Wednesday night in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles were nothing short of chaotic, as three LAPD officers were wounded in a wild shootout with an alleged career criminal, Jonathan Magana.

The suspect, who police described as a “parolee at large,” had been sought by officers in the 3800 block of Broadway when he was spotted and led them on a chase. Eventually, Magana barricaded himself inside an apartment building, sparking an hours-long standoff with police.

Despite attempts to coax him out using tear gas canisters, the situation only escalated, and a K9 unit was sent in to enter the apartment. Furthermore, the suspect was later found dead inside the apartment, bringing an end to the tragic events of that evening. 

LAPD Assistant Chief Al Labrada talked with reporters and said that the suspect exited and fired at the officers, wounding three. All of them are now listed in stable condition.

Is Jonathan Magana In Jail Now?

No, Jonathan Magana is not in jail, as he has already passed away. During the ******** incident involving Jonathan Magana, LAPD officials reported that an unknown number of officers returned fire after Magana shot at them.

The wounded officers were quickly rescued, and SWAT officers in tactical gear later entered the scene, where they discovered Magana’s body unresponsive. Besides, Magana was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials did not release a cause or manner of his passing.

According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Magana was reportedly on parole at the time of the ********, having served a prison sentence for two counts of second-degree robbery.

Magana had previously been convicted of having ammunition by a former felon and possessing a firearm by a felon in separate cases.
