The soccer player attended St. Robert of Newminster Catholic School. Growing up, he was interested in playing football. As he was the tallest among all 8-year-olds, he played goalie for his school’s youth team for a while.

Afterward, his parents enrolled him at Sunderland’s Academy. But, the goalkeeping options were unavailable, and the Academy wanted to send him on loan.

Although they hesitated to send the 8-year-old boy out on loan, Pickford was not afraid. The loans were brutal and uncompromising. The athlete went to six of them, which helped him to develop his skills.

In 2010, Jordan got promoted to the reserve team from Academy. In the following year, he signed his first professional contract with Sunderland. From Sunderland to Everton to the National team, he demonstrated his worth.
