Joseph Czuba is a 71-year-old man whose name came into the media prominence after he killed a six-year-old boy and injured a woman, 32, in Plainfield, Illinois.
The young boy named Wadea al-Fayoume was reportedly stabbed 26 times. In addition to that, the boy’s mother, Hanaan Shahin, was stabbed multiple times Saturday in an attack.
The attack reportedly happened inside their Plainfield Township home, allegedly at the hands of their landlord because of their Islamic faith and as a reaction to the war between Israel and Hamas.

Joseph Czuba stabbed Wadea Al-Fayoume 26 times, and the news has gone viral on the web. The Will County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the boy and his mother were targeted because of the recent conflict between Hamas and Israel.
On Saturday around 11:38 a.m. local time, deputies were sent to a residence near S. Lincoln Highway as they responded to a call about a stabbing between a landlord and tenant.
Wadea and his mother were found in the bedroom of a residence. Wadea and his mom, Hanaan, had multiple stab wounds to their chest, torso and upper extremities.
Hanaan was taken to the hospital in serious condition. It has been noted that Hanaan suffered from over a dozen stab wounds to her body and is expected to survive the attack.
Furthermore, Wadea was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Sadly, Wadea succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Joseph Czuba was taken to a hospital after authorities discovered him with a laceration on his forehead when they arrived at the scene.
Following his detention, Joseph was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of a hate crime and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
It has been reported that Joseph did not give a statement about the matter. However, the authorities have said that the victims were targeted by the suspect due to them being Muslim.
Not only that but they were attacked due to the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis. Furthermore, Joseph is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
