Larry Mahan was born on November 21, 1943, making his age 79 years at the time of his death on Mary 7, 2023. He grew up in Salem, Oregon and started competing in professional rodeo when Mahan was 14 years old.
In 1963, Mahan competed in the Rodeo Cowboys Association (RCA). Likewise, Mahan was the high-money winner in bull riding in 1965 and 1967, as he took home over $50,000.
In the 1970s, Mahan had a tough time. However, he won an all-around title in 1973, with injuries sidelining him sometimes. Apart from his rodeo career, Mahan was also engaged in other fields.
