Kari Ann Lake was born to her parents, Larry A. Lake and Sheila A. Lake (née McGuire). They were later divorced.

Her Father, Larry, is a former public school teacher who taught history and government. He was also a football and basketball coach from Richland Center, Wisconsin.

Her mother, Sheila, is a nurse from Appleton, Wisconsin. Kari came from a middle-class family before she made it big in the media.

Kari was born in Rock Island, Illinois, and grew up in Iowa. As she shared on a Twitter post, she comes from a big family with eight siblings: seven sisters and one brother. Further, she is the youngest one.

Kari has shared that the biggest thing she learned from her large family was her work ethic. 

She attended North Scott Senior High School in Eldridge, Iowa, and studied at the University of Iowa, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and journalism.

Kari married Jeff Halperin in August 1998. The couple is blessed with two children. Their first child, Ruby, is 21, and their second child, Leo, is 15.

Kari Lake Religion Is Christian

Kari Lake follows the Christian religion, she has confirmed. She did a lot of yoga to alleviate stress from her work in broadcasting, making people mistake her faith. 

The American politician has faced several questions and attacks during her governorship Campaign, including regarding her belief. Some people have called her a Buddhist.

Kari recently joined The Glenn Beck Podcast and set the record straight. She shared the story of her spiritual journey from her Christian (her mother was Catholic, and her Father was Lutheran) upbringing to restoring her faith after being “canceled” in 2019.

“I don’t want to get you canceled, but what I said was the truth, the unabashed truth, and I got canceled,” she added.

Kari shared that it was tragic when getting canceled for the first time but now laughs at the situation.

She prayed to God, getting on her knees and saying, “Get me through this. This is painful. Will I survive this?” and it worked. Her supporters started showing her love and support, and she said to God, “Thank you. You did that.'”

Kari further shared the moment she realized that “the news is a lie, and the Bible is the truth.” She still reads the Christian holy book regularly in her 50s.
