She then joined WHBF-TV in Rock Island, Illinois as a daily reporter and weekend weathercaster.
In August 1994, Lake joined KPNX in Phoenix, Arizona as the weekend weather anchor and later became the evening anchor.
After a couple of years, Lake relocated to work for WNYT in Albany, New York, replacing Chris Kapostasy.

Kari Lake’s political career has been full of ups and downs, with several party changes.
She was a member of the Republican party until November 2006, when she changed her registration to be independent.
In January 2008, she turned into a Democrat after Barack Obama’s win at the Iowa Democratic presidential caucus.
However, in January 2012, Lake returned to being a Republican.
She was chosen as the Republican nominee for the November 2022 Arizona Gubernatorial election and ran several campaigns.
She received Donald Trump’s endorsement in September 2021 and was described as a champion of the far-right movement in the US.
However, Kari lost the election to the Democrat nominee Katie Hobbs by a margin of over 17000 votes.
She received 1,270,774 votes, while Katie received 1,287,891 votes.
Following the result, Kari refused to concede her loss in disbelief and filed a lawsuit claiming a mistake in counting.
She recently lost the lawsuit, and Hobbs was sworn in as Arizona governor on January 2, 2023.
