McVie, a musician with classical training, was born in Greenodd, England, to a music teacher Father. In the late 1960s, she joined the British band Chicken Shack and went by the stage name Christine Perfect.
While guitarist and founder Peter Green were leading the band, she joined Fleetwood Mac after marrying its bassist, John McVie.
Before Stevie Nicks and Lindsey joined in 1974 and the band shot to fame, the group underwent several member changes.

She passed at 79 years of age.
According to her family’s statement, Christine died peacefully that morning, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the hospital, after a brief illness. Additionally, they claimed that she was with her family.
In addition, they pleaded with the audience to keep Christine in their thoughts, respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time, and recall Christine’s extraordinary life as a beloved human being.
A statement from Fleetwood Mac honoring McVie was also posted on her account. She said Christine was genuinely unique, exceptional, and incredibly talented. According to Mac, she was also the best friend anyone could have and the best musician in their band.

John McVie and Eddy Quintela were Christine McVie’s two husbands during her lifetime.
Fleetwood Mac’s lead bassist was John McVie. He married Christine in 1968, but they were only together until 1976. The couple’s marriage was put under a great deal of stress by playing in the same band. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Christine claimed that she split up with John mid-tour. She also said that she had to do it for her sanity.
