Kurt Angle Had Neck Surgery: But Is He Sick Now?

Kurt Angle underwent numerous neck operations throughout his career. 

Angle has experienced several neck injuries as a professional wrestler, including multiple herniated discs.

He had two of his vertebrae fused during a cervical neck fusion procedure in 2003, which helped him stabilize his neck.

So, he had to stop wrestling for several months to heal after the operation. In 2004, he returned to the ring, but his neck problems persisted, necessitating additional recovery time for surgery.

He had additional cervical neck surgery in 2011 that involved the insertion of a titanium plate and screws, the removal of a bone spur, and the removal of a herniated disc & the removal of a bone spur.

Angle claims his discomfort has been reduced due to the procedures, allowing him to continue working.

He is doing well now and living happily with his wife, Giovanna Yannotti and kids.

Angle sought treatment for alcohol and opioid addiction in 2011. He has also discussed his battles with anxiety and sadness.

Despite these difficulties, Angle has been trying to get over them and sober since 2011.

He has been transparent about his troubles to aid those facing comparable difficulties.

On the other hand, Angle never tested positive for drugs, but he failed a steroid test as the WWE Wellness Policy required since his nandrolone prescription had run out.

In a recent Kurt Angle Show podcast episode, Angle discussed his third fractured neck.

When Angle was working with Brock Lesnar in the latter part of 2003, a steel chair was used, which caused Angle to re-injure his neck.

A retired wrestler said Brock Lesnar whacked him over the head with a chair before bringing it.

He added, “When I tell you that he brought it, I genuinely mean it. The problem is that Brock hit Chris Benoit and me with chairs that evening.

He told Brock, “Hey, swing sideways on my head because I had surgery on my neck, and I don’t want you to come over straight over the top,” to Chris before the match.
