The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office reports that Larry Monskey passed away on Tuesday, a number of hours after finishing his patrol duty.
“Larry is fondly remembered for his dedication to the communities he served, his support for those he served alongside, and especially for the pride he showed for his children,” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.
“Larry’s generosity to others will be sorely missed; he showed genuine concern to citizens and coworkers.” Since 2019, Monskey had been employed with the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office.
Prior to that, he served in the Robbinsdale Police Reserves, the Mall of America security guards, and the Lester Prairie Police Department.
He completed his high school education in Wayzata before enrolling at Rasmussen University to earn a degree in law enforcement.
