She flew to Knoxville on February 4, and during the flight, she felt abdominal pain and was taken to the Blount Memorial Hospital when she landed.

Lisa Edwards Body Camera Update

Distressing Lisa Edwards Body Camera footage was released, which shows her moments before she suffered a stroke in police custody.

The body camera footage shows that the first officer arrived at the hospital at around 8 am, an hour after Lisa was discharged.

The elderly woman tells the officer that she had a stroke and couldn’t walk, but he responds that the hospital has already discharged her and wants her gone.

The officer tells Lisa that she will go to jail and be charged with trespassing if she won’t leave.

After some time, other officers arrive and try to transfer Edwards to the jail transport vehicle.

However, it can be seen that the woman’s voice has gone slurry as she asks for help and cannot get inside the side compartment of the van.

The officers are visibly disgusted by Edwards, repeatedly calling her dead weight and saying she won’t cooperate by standing or lifting her feet.

Though the 60-year-old tells officers she can’t breathe or stand, they tell her that she has been medically discharged and is fine.

Officers repeatedly say that they think Lisa is “playing games” to avoid leaving the hospital.

The police then took her to jail in a cruiser because they could not transport the woman in the van.

Just minutes after she is in the cruiser, Lisa can be seen gasping and wheezing as she falls back into a slumped position.

Within 10 minutes, she could not be heard and slipped out of sight.

The officer drove for some minutes before finally realizing the woman had fallen unconscious. He doubts that she may be faking.

Sometime later, Lisa was taken back to Fort Sanders hospital, where she died the next day, on February 6.
