Matt And Gina Affair: Relationship Timeline
Matt Hancock was caught on camera getting intimate with his political aide, Gina Coladangelo, in his Whitehall office in May 2021. Matt had hired PR expert Gina as a non-executive director at the Department of Health.
According to The Times, Matt immediately took action after learning that the images were about to be published. He rushed home to brutally break the news of his infidelity to Martha, who had no clue until then.
Then, he reportedly woke their youngest child, eight, to tell him he was leaving. Martha has understandably refused to be drawn publicly.
Matt confessed to the affair and stepped down as the health minister. In a February 2022 podcast, he shared how his friendship with Gina turned into something more.
He explained that he had known Gina for “more than half of his life” and how they had worked together on student radio during their Oxford days.
The two grew close after spending a lot of time together. “And we fell in love. And that’s something that was completely outside of my control,” he admitted.
Matt hinted that both planned to separate from their respective partners in a way that was as ‘unpainful’ as possible but said the surfaced images caused a ‘huge amount of pain.’
Nevertheless, he gushed about falling in love with Gina in an “easy” way, hailing their relationship as ‘joyous’ and saying that he loved her ‘deeply.’
Moreover, Matt confirmed he was still with his girlfriend while talking with Babatúndé Aléshé on the British reality television show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Matt Hancock Was Married With Three Kids
Matt Hancock was married to Martha Hoyer Millar, an osteopath and granddaughter of Frederick Millar, 1st Baron Inchyra.
They first met while studying at Oxford University, dated for a while, and tied the knot in 2006.
The couple shares three kids: a daughter and two sons. One of them was adopted, and the youngest was born in 2013.
However, Matt prefers to keep them out of the limelight and has not revealed their names.
The marriage was going well for almost 15 years until the bombshell of Matt cheating on Martha dropped.
It was an extramarital affair for both as Gina was then married to Oliver Tress, the multi-millionaire founder of Oliver Bonas, and also has three kids with him.
Matt and Gina first met at Oxford University in the late 1990s when she read the news while he covered sports at the University’s Oxygen FM.
The two couples were reportedly so close that Gina and Oliver celebrated Christmas with the Hancocks.
