Matt Turner Religion: Is American Footballer Jewish Or Christian?

Matt Turner identifies himself more with Jewish than Christian traditions.

The paternal great-grandmother of Turner’s Father is Jewish, and she emigrated from Lithuania during World War II because of religious persecution.

At immigration, the surname Turner was Anglicized from Turnovski to Turner. Meanwhile, his mom is a devout Catholic.

So, we can say Turner is known to both religions as his parents both follow two religions.

As Turner started obtaining his Lithuanian passport and his European goals, he discovered his great-emigration grandmother’s records from that country.

A call from Remi Roy, the goalkeeping coach at the time, inviting him to join the squad in the preseason was received by his Father, who had also acquired a Lithuanian passport.

Turner acknowledged that it would be difficult to reject the notion of moving to Europe, but it is still much for him to achieve in Foxborough.

For the first time since 1930, the USMNT has recorded several clean sheets in a World Cup, largely thanks to Matt Turner, whose transformation from his college days is impressive.

The achievement followed the USA’s tense 1-0 victory over Iran on Tuesday when Iran placed pressure on the Americans, but Turner only had to deal with one shot that was on target.

Turner wasn’t put to the test too often in Group B, but when he was, he performed wonderfully.

In draws with the U.S., Wales and England both managed just three shots on goal each, but Turner pulled off spectacular saves on strikes from Mason Mount and Ben Davies to avert specific goals.

Gareth Bale’s late penalty in the 1-1 draw against Wales was the lone goal Turner and the USMNT defense allowed.

Turner has performed admirably in 23 matches for the USA, so his performances in Qatar won’t come as a surprise to USA fans. Turner has also had a promising debut as Arsenal’s No. 2 player.
