He was a lawyer and Agnès Le Roux’s lover who had moved money to an account formed in his name with power of attorney for his second mistress, Françoise Laussère.

Françoise Laussère supports Maurice Agnelet’s assertion that he was with her in Switzerland when Agnès Le Roux vanished.

The crime occurred in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), France, in 1977. The body of Agnès Leroux has never been located.

The investigation into this matter starts on October 27, 1977, when Agnès Le Roux, a 29-year-old heiress to the Palais de la Méditerranée, vanishes.

The former Nice attorney and his former boyfriend Jean-Maurice Agnelet, served as the case’s leading suspect in her abduction and accused murderer.

Renée Le Roux, Agnès Le Roux’s mother, frequently brought the romance back to life during the course of its 37-year existence.

Maurice Agnelet was found guilty of murder by the Assize Court of Rennes on April 11, 2014.

What Was The Décès (Death) Reason Of Maurice Agnelet?

Maurice Agnelet’s appeal was denied by the Court of Cassation on July 8, 2015, making the accused’s conviction irrevocable.

In exchange for her shares and her vote against her mother on the casino’s board of directors, Fratoni gave Agnès 3 million euros in inheritance plus interest in May 2015.

This money was returned to the Le Roux family. On June 6, 2016, Renée Le Roux passed away at the age of 93.

Maurice Agnelet was granted a medically necessary sentence suspension by the Caen sentence enforcement court in September 2020.

The prosecution appealed this ruling, believing that the “early release for medical reasons is not justified,” and has delayed his release.

On December 24, 2020, he was eventually granted an early release and departed to travel to New Caledonia to be with his second son Thomas.

Agnelet, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in New Caledonia, reportedly after a heart attack, not long after being granted a medical release from jail.

The last chance of ever learning the truth about what truly happened to Agnès Le Roux was destroyed by his death. Michel Henry covers a persistent enigma.

Agnelet was initially found not guilty of the crime but was later found guilty on appeal in 2007 and sentenced to 20 years in prison. The European Court of Human Rights eventually overturned this decision.

Several alarming new findings have surfaced during Agnelet’s retrial in Rennes, including testimony from Agnelet’s own son, who said he thinks his father committed the crime.

On Monday, 45-year-old Guillaume Agnelet testified in court that his mother had informed him that his father had murdered Le Roux while she slept while they were camping in Italy and dumped her body by the side of the road.

He claimed that in the 1980s, his father had also acknowledged knowing where the body was.
