Carl Everett and Paulette Everett Norman are Samuel Mckay Everett’s parents.

The family lived in Conroe, Texas. On the night of Mckay’s abduction, his parents, who were members of the Amway program, attended a meeting nearby their house. Carl and Paulette were confident about leaving their 12-year-old boy alone at house.

Also, Samuel Mckay’s father occasionally called to ensure he was ok. But halfway through the meeting, the young boy didn’t respond to his parents’ calls.

The anxious parents rushed back home to discover it completely empty. Without wasting time, they contacted neighbors and formed a search group.

However, Carl received a call from a woman with a raspy voice on the phone before the group started the search, informing him about Samuel’s kidnap.

In exchange for Samuel’s safe return, the female demanded $500,000 from him. However, neither a location nor a time for the ransom exchange was given. Carl and Paulette went to the police to report the event.

Following the involvement of law enforcement officials, they set up numerous search parties and went around the neighborhood in search of the young boy.

Samuel’s mom and dad were asked if someone had a grudge against them. However, the case remained unsolved for six days.

After that, Samuel’s dead body was found in Louisiana, close to a swamp. The boy was brutally tortured, according to the results of the initial medical examination.

But later, autopsy results determined that he had actually been shot twice in the head and chest by a .45-caliber pistol.

Who Killed Samuel McKay Everett?

Though the initial investigation of McKay Everett’s kidnapping was challenging, the authorities managed to name the suspect.

Hilton Crawford, who was in the same Amway program, was a friend of the Everett family, and the victim was familiar with him.

Hilton insisted on attending the 12 September meeting, but no one saw him, making him the subject of investigation. Also, the community member saw a gold Chrysler speeding through the neighborhood on the night.

Police tracked the vehicle and found it at a storage yard in Beaumont. Coincidently, Crawford was a former Police officer and Sheriff’s Deputy in Beaumont.

In addition, the police tracked the suspect’s movements using his phone records and discovered that he had gotten in touch with a number of former coworkers to request a false alibi.

Also, Hilton and his wife had declared bankruptcy and had a debt of over $300,000, which gave them a reason for the kidnapping.

Meanwhile, a woman, who previously worked for one of the suspect’s former businesses, confessed to making the ransom call on behalf of her former employer.

The authorities arrested Holton Crawford and charged him with abduction. Surprisingly, the suspect did not contest the accusations. Instead created a map to aid authorities in finding the young victim’s remains.

Crawford was sentenced to death in 1996. He was executed on 2 July 2003 by lethal injection in Huntsville, Texas.
