Prominent rodeo cowboy Larry Mahan was a family man. He was a proud father of three kids – Lisa, Ty, and Eliza Mahan.
Larry Mahan was a six all-around world championship-winning rodeo cowboy. He also won two bull riding world championships in the Rodeo Cowboy Association circuit at the NFR.
The 1979 ProRodeo Hall of Fame inductee is no longer with us. He died on 7 May 2023. He passed away after three years of a lengthy battle with bone marrow cancer.
It has been reported that Mahan passed away at his home, surrounded by his family.

Larry Mahan was a doting dad to his three kids, Lisa, Ty and Eliza Mahan.
The 1979 ProRodeo Hall of Fame inductee was married three times in his life. His first marriage was with Darlene. Mahan welcomed his two eldest kids, Lisa and Ty Mahna, with his first spouse.
Larry Mahan was married to Darlene from the early 1960s to 1973. After divorcing Darlene, the rodeo cowboy moved to Los Angeles.
He met his second wife, Robin, and tied the knot in 1982. The couple had a daughter, Eliza.
Afterward, Larry Mahan met the third spouse, Julane. However, this marriage also didn’t last long, and they parted ways in 2009.
Lisa Mahan Is The First Child Of Her Parents
Lisa Mahan is the eldest child of the late Cowboy. She was born on 16 September 1962.
Larry didn’t miss his first child’s birth despite his demanding career. In a social media post, Mahan said, “It has been a privilege for me to watch her grow from a tiny infant to the special woman she is today.”
According to her father, people are drawn to Lisa’s big heart, kindness, and personality. Mahan said his eldest daughter has also inherited a good hand with a horse and is an animal lover.
While wishing her a happy birthday, Larry said he couldn’t imagine his life without his daughter, Lisa Mahan.
Larry Mahan Son, Ty Mahan, Passed Away In 2020
Sadly, the legendary rodeo cowboy’s only son, Ty Mahan, died of a heart attack on October 2020. Ty was only 53 years old at the time.
Ty Mahan was born in January 1967 and brought immense blessings to the family.
Ty attended the prep school Deerfield in Massachusetts for a full year. After earning his degree from the University of Texas at Austin, he enrolled there and spent a semester studying law.
But, he didn’t really enjoy studying law, so he became a triathlete and raced successfully in several challenging Iron Man races. A heart problem developed, forcing the athlete (Ty) to stop competing and requiring several surgeries.
After giving up on his athletic career, Ty committed his time to groups that inform people about dependency problems. Larry Mahan said he was really proud of his son.
Moreover, Ty Mahan was engaged to a pharmacist Kristina, a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin. Unfortunately, he died in 2020.
Eliza Mahan Is The Youngest Child Of Larry Mahan
Larry Mahan had his youngest child with his second wife, Robin. Eliza was born on 2 December 1987.
At the time of Eliza’s birth, her parents lived in Camp Verde between Kerrville and Bandera. Eliza Mahan is a beautiful and bright woman. The youngest Mahan also graduated from the University of Texas, Austin.
