The Washington Post op-ed columnist Michael Gerson was a Policy Fellow with One Campaign, a former senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, and a visiting fellow with the Center for Public Justice.

From 2001 until June 2006, he served as President George W. Bush’s chief speechwriter and later as a senior policy advisor from 2000 through June 2006. Michael was a member of the White House Iraq Group.

Michael is a senior adviser at One, a bipartisan organization dedicated to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable diseases.

Michel was a Journalist for U.S. News & World Report before joining President Bush’s first presidential Campaign. 

The former policy fellow was listed as the ninth most influential evangelical in the same year, 2005, and was included in Time’s list of The 25 Most Influential Evangelicals In America. 

In 2018, the Washington columnist and commentator Amy Holmes co-hosted In Principle, a politically conservative-oriented television talk show on PBS.

The 58 years old Columnist was born on May 16, 1964, in Belmar, New Jersey, U.S, to an Evangelical Christian family.

Michale was announced dead on November 17, 2022, at 58 years at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC.

The Columnist helped shape President George W Bush’s message after the 9/11 attacks and moved to The Washington Post.

The Columnist, in 2013, revealed he had a slow-growing kidney Cancer, which he continued to live with.

According to The Hill, the cause of Michael’s death was related to complications with Cancer. Michael, who commented on conservative politics and faith at the paper for over two decades, died at a hospital in Washington.

Meet Michael Gerson’s Wife, Dawn Gerson

Michael has been married to Dawn Soon Miller since 1990 to his lovely wife, Dawn Gerson. His wife was born in South Korea.

His wife and Michel met in high school and soon fell in love and married in 2000.

Per his Wikipedia profile, his wife was adopted by an American family when she was six years old and raised in the Midwestern United States.

The Washington columnist suffered from major depressive disorder and has been hospitalized at least once due to the disease.

According to The Sun, Michel had previously endured a heart attack, leading him to retire from full-time speechwriting in December 2004.

Later, the Journalist transferred to Wheaton College in Illinois after attending Georgetown University for a year.

 Mourning the death of their Columnist, The Washington Post wrote: “Michel wrote with an eye toward religious and moral imagery, and that approach melded well with Bush’s personality as a Leader open about his Christian faith.”
