The Columnist, in 2013, revealed he had a slow-growing kidney Cancer, which he continued to live with.

According to The Hill, the cause of Michael’s ***** was related to complications with Cancer. Michael, who commented on conservative politics and faith at the paper for over two decades, died at a hospital in Washington.
