The police arrested Powe at his home in Monroe. Powe and Mitchell Jr. were taken to the Ouachita Correctional Center and charged with second-degree murder.

According to the police, it was alleged that Powe and Mitchell Jr. had taken Robinson’s body to a remote location provided by Powe and loaded it into Robinson’s car.

They then drove to Franklin Parish to dispose of the body. Both individuals were given $500,000 bonds after being accused of second-degree murder.

Mitchell and Powe were kept in the Ouachita Correctional Center while waiting for their trial or until they could pay bail.

But, after Powe was arrested, the police decided to drop the murder case against him when they found out more information from Mitchell.

The officers said Powe wasn’t involved in the crime. It’s unusual for someone to get a chance to correct a mistake like this.

Michael Mitchell Murder: A Shocking Twist in the Michael Robinson Jr. Case

The main suspect, 18-year-old Michael Mitchell Jr., had initially been accused of Cameron Powe, causing confusion and doubt about the truthfulness of his statements.

However, a court document filed later has raised doubts about the accuracy of Mitchell’s claims.

It stated that Cameron Powe was not involved in the murder, leading to questions about the real motives behind Mitchell’s statement.

After the Monroe Field Office released this document, officials began questioning Mitchell’s confession’s credibility.

As a result, the Louisiana State Police (LSP) dropped the second-degree murder charge against Cameron Powe, and the district attorney’s office filed a declination form on August 3.

This means they are open to considering other possibilities in investigating Michael Robinson Jr.’s tragic death.
