In June 2020, Mr. Whitehall’s son, Jack, revealed that he was terrified that he had transferred coronavirus during the first few weeks of lockdown.

Jack Whitehall stated that despite adhering to the guidelines, he felt paralyzed by the thought that he might have infected his father, who was 80 years old at the time.

In a talk with the Radio Times, the author’s son said, “We went over for dinner as the lockdown was just about to start.”
