Aklant Das, the youngest son of late Odia Actor Mihir Das, died on Tuesday night.
According to preliminary reports, Aklant’s final rites were performed on January 26th at the Sati Choura crematorium in Cuttack.
He had been receiving treatment for a liver condition at AIIMS Bhubaneswar for the past month.
Previously, Aklant’s Father, Mihir Das, died in January 2022 while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack. Mihir had reportedly been suffering from kidney problems for several years. He was admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack and was placed on mechanical ventilation.
Mihir Das Son Death: How Did Aklant Das Died?
Aklant Das, the younger son of late Odia Actor Mihir Das, died at night while receiving treatment. He had been hospitalized for a month due to liver problems.
A family member revealed that Aklant was receiving treatment and had been in ICU for the previous five to six days. He was recovering, but doctors informed them around 9 pm yesterday that his condition had deteriorated and he had died.
According to family members, Aklant’s elder brother Alman was in Balugaon for a film shoot when he learned of the former’s tragic death.

After his wife died, Mihir Das took on the roles of both Father and mother to raise his children, according to another relative. Everyone had hoped that Aklant would be able to recover and return home. He died, however, at a much younger age.

Mihir married Sangita Das, a singer and film artist who died of a heart attack in 2010. Chitta Jena, a popular singer, was her Father. Mihir Das and Sangita Das have two sons, Amlan Das, who also works as an Actor, and Aklant Das.
