Mike Pence News: He Did Not File For President 2024, False Rumors Explained

The former U.S. Vice President didn’t file to run for president in 2024. Mike Pence’s adviser, Devin O’Malley, denied the reports on Monday through a tweet.

O’Malley wrote, “former Vice President Mike Pence didn’t file to run for President Today.” Devin was press secretary for Mike Pence when he was VP.

As reported by Reuters, the filed statements of candidacy appeared on the Federal Election Commission’s website.

The fillings appeared on a U.S. federal holiday and prompted some news outlets, such as Britain’s Sky News, to report. The news Link was also shared widely on Twitter by several individuals.

The FEC website listed the files as “raw” filings that the Commission has not yet gone through. It was unknown who filed them.

An FEC spokesperson said they couldn’t comment on specific fillings. However, it noted that Commission reviews potentially false and fictitious registration forms.

Pence incurred then-President Donald Trump’s wrath by declining to back his bid to annul the results of the 2020 election. Since Trump’s defeat by Joe Biden, he has become further distant from the former Leader.
