Judging by his Instagram account, his Son Saif shared his Father’s interest in racing vehicles. Saif would frequently upload photos of his Father’s vast collection of supercars and other notable sports cars.

But, a world motorsports regulatory organization spokeswoman revealed Saif had sadly died in a traffic accident. No more statement is expected from the FIA or Ben Sulayem, who has sought seclusion.

Sulayem Snr’s involvement with the FIA began when he was appointed Vice President and a World Motor Sport Council member.

In 2013, he was appointed Head of the FIA’s Motor Sport Development Task Force.

The 61-year-old is also a founder of the Arab Council of Touring and Automobile Clubs, which aims to bring together FIA Clubs from Arabic-speaking countries.
