While touring in the south of France, he suffered a heroin overdose, leading to brain damage and memory issues, even struggling to recall the lyrics to some of his songs.

He recognized his mistakes and found solace in reading a Gideon Bible he had acquired during his travels.

Battling poor physical health and weighing only 137 pounds at 6’1″, he decided to commit to a drug treatment program.

After seven months, towards the end of 1973, Mylon emerged clean from his drug addiction.

Moreover, at that time, Mylon had developed bleeding ulcers, which also led him to commit to enrolling in a drug treatment program that same year.

As the later part of the 1970s unfolded, Mylon would go on to release a few more albums before experiencing significant changes in his personal life and career.
