Later, he established his own locksmith business, Randomhero, and worked there for several years until moving back to the Youngstown region.

The family of Gregory Paul Zinni announces his premature passing at the age of 38 with the utmost regret.  On Friday, August 25, 2023, Gregory passed away surrounded by family and friends. 

Gregory, the son of the late Dr. Gregory S. Zinni, MD, and Catherine J. (Harlor) Zinni was born on January 4, 1985, in Youngstown, Ohio.

His loved ones will recall his charisma and commitment to the simple things in life as the things they would miss the most. 

Gregory was most known for being the “movie guru,” always prepared with a short, pithy movie remark to clarify any circumstance.

His first recollections are of playing baseball for Mill Creek under the guidance of his father and uncle Kenny.

He continued to be athletic into adulthood, where he enjoyed skating, golfing, snowboarding, skydiving, scuba diving, and “backyard games.” 

He was a devoted supporter of the Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes. Gregory Zinni obituary and funeral details have been released by his family. 

On September 1, 2023, Father Tony Massad officiated private funeral services at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home in Boardman.

He is lovingly remembered by his three sisters, Elizabeth Zinni of Austintown, Carly Zinni and Natalie Zinni of Youngstown and his brother Grayson Zinni of Cortland; his nieces, Adriana and Viviana Daff and Evelyn Klimis; his uncle, Jeffrey C. Zinni of Youngstown; aunt, Jennifer Saadey of Youngstown; uncle, Paul David Harlor of New Jersey and aunt Judi Hill of Columbus. In addition, he leaves many cousins, relatives, and friends behind.

He was predeceased by his best buddy, Rufio, and his parents, Dr. Greogry S. Zinni, MD, and Catherine J. Zinni. 

He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Paul and Helen Harlor, Chester and Loretta Zinni, and his uncles, Kenneth Zinni, Chester Zinni, and Michael (Elizabeth) Harlor.
