An empty bucket waits in the booth’s deepest corner for Patty to reach for it in times of emergency when she must release everything inside her.
But, within minutes, she returns, bringing additional happiness to everyone. The DJ was diagnosed with esophageal Cancer over a decade ago. Since then, she decided to grab every opportunity life throws, keeping the turntable spinning.
Following the first diagnosis in 2011, Patty decided not to have chemotherapy. However, the musician has undergone a total of five surgeries. Among them, three were significant.
In an interview with Rappler in August last year, the DJ revealed that she was experiencing her symptoms more frequently.
In addition, the doctor informed her that she only had five to eight years left to live since her high-grade malignant cells would start to spread to a new area.

In the same interview, the DJ revealed that she couldn’t consume solid food anymore, so she eats soft, mainly liquidated. Tiu also said that she often feels dizzy and has continuous chest and abdominal pains. Not to mention throwing up blood.
As she was 22 years old when she discovered her Cancer. She decided not to take the radiology route because she didn’t want to lose her mobility.
“I considered it a blessing that I had already been given this second life. This is everything I’m capable of doing in my second life. When it comes to receiving treatments or even a second opinion, I don’t want to burden the people I care about,” Patty told the publication.

While sharing a heartfelt farewell letter on her Facebook account, the DJ said she planned to dedicate her remaining days to helping change the world.
“My body can’t take it anymore,” she wrote in the note. Despite wanting to keep it all, Patty said she must choose. The DJ said she had done it all, particularly what she wanted to do in DJing.
It’s time to answer her more significant calling, the musician added. The 33-year-old revealed that she would focus and dedicate her remaining time to what would change communities, an entire society, and even globally.
Patty Tiu had rebounded youth. She tried to take her life due to severe bullying from her classmates. She reportedly struggled with her loneliness and desired to belong and be accepted.
