Senior scientist Pradeep Kurulkar was arrested for having contact with ISI. Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad detained him for espionage charges.
According to a press release, he was detained concerning a possible honeytrap case. The senior scientist was reportedly found to have had contact with Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency operatives via WhatsApp messages and voice and video calls.
A case has been filed under the Official Secrets Act 1923 and other suitable sections. Kurulkar was arrested on Wednesday and appeared in court a day later. The court remanded Pradeep to ATS custody.
