During a nocturnal outing, Queen Letizia of Spain was accompanied by her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia, and her two daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.

The ceremony was held on May 22, 2004, in Madrid’s Santa Mara la Real de la Almudena Cathedral. This church hosted its first royal wedding.

Since the prince’s parents wed in Athens and his sisters, Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina, wed in Seville and Barcelona, respectively, it had been almost a century since the capital had hosted a royal wedding.

On November 7, 2005, Leonor along with her parents departed the Ruber International Hospital. On January 14, 2006, Cardinal Antonio Rouco Varela, the archbishop of Madrid, baptized her in the Zarzuela Palace.

Leonor was baptized in a romanesque baptismal font, just like her father, using Jordan River water. Since the 17th century, Spanish princes have been baptized in this font.

Her paternal grandparents, King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia, served as her godparents. The name Leonor de Todos Los Santos was given to her.

The group stage could have been successfully concluded with a draw, but a last-second goal at the Brentford Community Stadium in London caused the crowd, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia to erupt in jubilation.

This is their first overseas journey by themselves. Since she spent her vacations at the Atlantic College in Wales, where she pursues an international baccalaureate, the heiress also had to return to the United Kingdom.

Before getting involved in the thrilling battle, the two in the box could be seen cheering on the plays and speaking with Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Soccer Federation.
