On October 1, he started for his first team and in La Liga in a 2-0 home victory over Espanyol.

On December 9, 2017, he scored his first La Liga goal in a 5-0 victory over Sevilla. He added a second goal to a 6-0 victory over Celta Vigo on May 12, 2018.

He played in two matches as Madrid won the 2017–18 UEFA Champions League, their third straight and 13th overall.
