Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin stated that he had not heard about such reports during a press briefing in Beijing. The website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry indicates that Gang’s last official engagement was on June 25, 2023.

The decision and the decree ordered that Gang was removed from office as Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. His predecessor and the former foreign minister of China, Wang Yi, took over the position.
Further, Qin served for 207 days, and he became the shortest-serving foreign minister in the history of the People’s Republic of China.
