Rafael Vinloy was a renowned architect who was based in New York. The late architect was the principal of Rafael Viñoly Architects, which he established in 1983.

Rafael Vinloy died on March 2, 2023, at the age of 78. His son Román Viñoly released an official statement announcing his Father’s passing.
Later, it was revealed that Rafael’s cause of death was an aneurysm. Aneurysm is an irregular bulge or ballooning in the wall of a blood vessel which can cause internal bleeding and often lead to death.
His son, Roman, described his Father as a “visionary” who leaves “a rich legacy of unique and timeless designs.” Roman shared the news on behalf of his family, co-workers and their partners worldwide.
Moreover, he also went on to say that a memorial service in New York is being planned.

Rafael Vinloy was a family man who was married to his wife, Diana Vinloy. She is also a designer who has done the interiors of several of Viñoly’s projects.
