Rajalakshmi Vijay, CEO of Altruist Technology Pvt Ltd, was killed on 19th March, Sunday morning after at Mumbai’s Worli Sea Face near the Worli Dairy, she was struck by a vehicle while jogging, according to police.
She was an experienced CEO with a strong track record of guiding international teams to success in a range of sectors. Vijay demonstrated abilities in acquisitions, profitable growth, and company turnaround.
Additionally, Rajalakshmi was a top-ranking holding Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
The deceased was also a doting mother and a devoted wife. She and her spouse Vijay Ramakrishnan resided on the seventh floor of Tower B, Balaji Garden in Matunga East, directly across from the Indian Gymkhana.

Rajalakshmi Vijay Accident: Tech Firm CEO Died After Car Hit Her
Rajalakshmi Vijay Ramakrishnan, the CEO of a private company, was killed on 19th March 2023 in Mumbai after being brutally hit by a vehicle while jogging close to Worli Dairy, according to police.
When the incident happened, the accused individual Sumer Merchant was on his way to drop off his friends at Shivaji Park while driving a Tata Nexon car.
Around five on a Sunday morning, Rajalakshmi and her husband, Vijay left their house and headed to the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, where they met up with the rest of the group who came to run and work out.
The pair finished their routine workout and walked away from the track. Rajalakshmi made the decision to jog home, while Vijay headed to Peddar Road to continue his run, according to the police department.
The tech enthusiast chose to take a longer path because she enjoyed marathons and went to the Worli Sea Face.
Recently, the deceased had completed the Tata Mumbai Marathon.
After the marathon, she used the Ronald Rooks quote, “I don’t run to add more to my life, instead I run to add life to my days,” on her Linkedin page.
Miss Vijay arrived at Worli Dairy around 6:20 in the morning when the heartbreaking accident happened.
While dropping off his good friends, Merchant lost control of the vehicle and crashed into Rajalakshmi. She then went up into the air and came to rest more than 20 feet distant on the road, according to the police.
A road divider was subsequently hit by the vehicle. Sumer suffered only minor injuries despite the fact that both front airbags were activated. Within a short while, police arrived at the scene.

After Rajalakshmi’s death, the Worli police arrested and charged the driver, Sumer Dharmesh Merchant with Section 304 and Section 184 charges.
Because of Sumer’s reckless driving, the tech firm CEO lost her life on the spot due to serious head injuries.
Furthermore, Rajalakshmi’s autopsy was performed in Nair Hospital. Her obituary is yet to be released by her family members.
Additionally, the deceased’s body was taken to her residence and then kept in a different hospital as her only son is in London to pursue his studies.
Rajalakshmi’s final rites will be performed when her son returns, according to a security guard at the Balaji Garden building.
