For 27 years, Randy Lemmon presided over the GardenLine radio program, where he disseminated various advice, tactics, and solid science for coping with this region’s particular climate.

His parents were Richard “Dick” Lemmon and Phyllis Lemmon, and he was born Randal Scott Lemmon on January 4, 1962, in Whittier, California.

After the family relocated to Houston, Randy attended Robert E. Lee High School before continuing his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a BS in Journalism in 1984. He resided at Moses Hall while attending Texas A&M.

Aside from his love of all things green, Randy was well-known for his sense of humor, culinary prowess, and enthusiasm for Aggie football and Astros baseball.

Additionally, Randy loved going to concerts, playing disc golf, playing racquetball, and watching Broadway play. 

He was a loving Father to his daughter Selena and son Randal. He offered unwavering support for their endeavors, including Randal’s tennis competitions and Selena’s rising musical stardom.
