Igor Shesterkin was born to his father Oleg Shestyorkin and his mother Elena Shestyorkina on December 30, 1995.

Shestyorkin’s father, Oleg Shestyorkin, played football professionally in Russia but was never able to join a prominent squad.

Shestyorkin returned home after the game to share his story with his father. During their conversation, the prospective goalie mentioned his ambition to play professional hockey.

Shestyorkin’s parents noticed that their little boy had already made up his mind and enrolled him in a local hockey section.
