According to the Sheriff’s Office, the bus was going west on State Hwy 23/33 shortly before 7:30 a.m. when it came to a halt near Northwoods Drive.
When a Ford F-150 pulled up behind the bus, the student had not yet boarded. According to the investigation, the driver did not slow down in time and veered right to miss the school bus.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the full-size truck sideswiped the bus before continuing over a driveway and striking the youngster. First responders attempted to save the student’s life, but he died at the site.
