He attended the Coahoma Community College and was the team captain in 2021. He played in 8 games and passed for 798 yards and six touchdowns while also running for 312 yards and one score.

In his 37 games for Hough HS, he passed for 5,279 yards and 56 touchdowns. Besides, he ran for 1,493 yards and 21 touchdowns. Kennique was a two-year team captain for Hough.

He was named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the Imeck Conference in 2018. He even led Hough to the state semifinals for the first time in school history in 2017.
