Solicitor Richard Grogan, Ireland’s most famous employment lawyer, has passed away. According to Freshers Live, he was 67.
In a Wednesday (November 12) morning tweet, the Law Society wrote they were “deeply saddened to learn of Council member Richard Grogan’s passing.”
The Society added that Richard was a hardworking advocate in proceedings and the public arena. “We will miss his energy, humor, and deep commitment to the profession,” they further wrote.
Likewise, Lawyers Against Homelessness also confirmed the news writing, “Remembering our esteemed and most generous colleague Richard Grogan who gave selflessly of his time, talent and genius to the homeless. Rest in peace, Richard.”
His death cause is yet to be revealed; we do not know if he died from Cancer or any other illness.
Fans noticed that Richard appeared to have health issues after his unusual absences from TikTok and his changing appearance, including his hoarser voice and thinning hair.

However, no one had expected him to be gone this early. Richard Grogan will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and fans worldwide.

Richard Grogan was a Dublin-based accredited mediator and employment lawyer. He founded the renowned employment law and personal injury claims solicitors firm in his hometown, the Richard Grogan & Associates Solicitors.
Richard and his Company specialized in Employment Law. He was a licensed tax counselor with more than 30 years of experience in both law and tax.
In addition, he published, wrote, and lectured on tax and employment rules and regulations.
Richard attended Blackrock College and earned a BCL with honors while studying law at University College Dublin. In 1979, he attained his solicitor’s license.
He was also a founding member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the Employment Law Association, and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
Giving straightforward, impartial advice without using legal jargon was his trademark.

Around March 2021, Richard started to use social media regularly. He used the platform to produce helpful guidance videos on various employment law-related topics.
His work, which fans highly appreciated, went viral. He began with roughly 400 Instagram followers and then joined TikTok despite initially thinking he was too old for it.
He was supposed to take a course at the Law Society in November 2021 on using social media in the legal profession when he learned about TikTok from a friend.
As of November 2022, he was at over 297k followers. He mostly did short, quick videos of 15 to 60 seconds based on the topics he obtained from his Direct Messages (DMs).
Richard received up to 150 inquiries per day and, depending on the trend, addressed as many topics as possible.
With a minimal investment (his iPhone), Mr. Grogan gained an enormous fan following and success on social media. “That’s the law, and that’s a fact” was his original catchphrase that will live on with his legacy.
