At the time of his passing, Richard was just 41 years old. When the news of Laviolette’s passing was confirmed, people started showering him with tributes and condolence messages to the devasted family.
Fans and followers remember the late singer for his fantastic voice and songs. Mudtown Records also paid tribute to Laviolette by writing,
“Our hearts go out to all those who loved Richard. And there are a lot of you.
He was among the most exuberant and joyful singer-songwriters we’ve seen perform. Each show was like the entire room was celebrating.”
The family is mourning the loss, and it has been said that a public memorial service for Laviolette will take place in Guelph later this year.

Richard Laviolette death cause has been linked to Huntington’s disease.
According to his obituary, he chose to receive MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying) but passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023.
It has been said that his condition was worsening since May 2023.
For your information, Huntington’s Disease is an inherited disorder that causes nerve cells (neurons) in brain parts to break down and die gradually.
Furthermore, Laviolette had symptoms related to Huntington’s disease this fall, and his health began worsening rapidly in May 2023.
After dealing with the disease, Laviolette took his last breath peacefully at age 41.
Richard Laviolette Health Before Death
Richard Laviolette health was not acceptable as he was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease.
Around that time, Richard’s body started having severe health issues, developing Ulceric Colitis at 12.
As his Ulceric Colitis worsened, he almost died at 17. At that time, he received a total colectomy that saved his life.
Some of the medications needed for this surgery caused intense bone damage.
At the age of 28, Richard had a hip replacement surgery. Despite having all the health issues, Laviolette didn’t leave music as he loved it; it was like therapy for him.
Furthermore, arrangements have been entrusted to Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel.
Likewise, a tree will be planted in memory of Laviolette in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
