Rick Hoyt Obituary and Funeral Details

The Rick Hoyt obituary has already been released from the Hoyt Foundation Facebook page leaving everyone shocked. As said earlier, Hoyt died due to complications in his respiratory system.

Furthermore, the statement didn’t give much detail about Rick’s *****, but they said they would give more info after the family revealed them openly.

Apart from that, the Hoyt Foundations was planning to Dick Hoyt Memorial “Yes You Can” Road Race that was scheduled on May 27 in Hopkinton, MA. But the statement released by the Hoyt Foundation has said that they will give more updates about it whether to organize or postpone the race.

Rick Hoyt Cerebral Palsy: Boston Marathon Icon Health and Illness Before *****

As mentioned earlier, Rick Hoyt had Cerebral Palsy before his *****. Not to mention, Cerebral Palsy is a group of movement disorders that emerge in early childhood whose signs and symptoms vary among people and over time.

Due to that health condition, the Boston Marathon icon Rick was left quadriplegic. Despite having Cerebral Palsy, Hoyt was able to establish his name.

It is reported that Hoyt had that condition at birth after his umbilical cord twisted around his neck, causing the blockage of oxygen flow.

As a result, Rick’s brain could not properly control his muscles. Many doctors encouraged the family to institutionalize Hoyt, telling them he would be a vegetable. Despite that, his parents believed in their son and hoped for the best.

Rick’s parents took him weekly to Children’s Hospital in Boston, where the Hoyts met a doctor who roused the Hoyts to treat Rick like any other child. Gradually, Rick’s condition was going well, and at the age of 11, Rick was provided with a computer that enabled him to communicate.

Following that, Rick was able to attend public schools for the first time. This made it clear that he was intelligent and that one’s disability is not an excuse for a person to pursue his/her dreams.
