Rolf Harris controversy and scandal have received searches after the former entertainer was announced dead at the age of 93, as per the Press Association.

Rolf Harris was a renowned entertainer, musician, singer-songwriter, and composer from Australia. Likewise, he also had a career as a comedian, actor, painter, and talented musician.

On May 10, 2023, Harris passed away at his Bray home at the age of 93. His passing wasn’t announced to the media until May 23, when officials from the registration office of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead did so.

According to his death certificate, Harris passed away from neck cancer and the frailty of old age.

Harris’s career came to an end after he was found guilty in England in 2014 of sexually assaulting four young girls.

Numerous accolades and honors were given to Harris, but many of them were revoked after his conviction.

In 1968, Harris was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), then in 1977, he was promoted to Officer (OBE), subsequently to Commander (CBE).

Regarding alleged prior sexual offences, Harris was questioned in May 2013. Rolf was granted bail after adamantly denying any culpability.

In August 2013, Operation Yewtree police arrested Harris once more and charged him with nine counts of indecent assault involving two females between the ages of 14 and 16 that occurred in the 1980s and four counts of creating indecent child pictures in 2012.

In July 2014, Harris, then 84 years old, was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison after being found guilty on 12 counts of indecent assault against four female victims in the 1970s and 1980s.

Was Rolf Harris In Jail Before Death?

No, Rolf Harris was not in jail before his death, as his death announcement revealed that the actor passed away at his Bray home.

However, Rolf did spend the majority of his life behind bars, followed by multiple controversies and scandals.

Harris was sentenced to prison in 2014 for decades-long sexual assaults. Between his release from prison and his passing on May 10, 2023, the disgraced performer largely avoided the spotlight.

His popularity declined in 2013 after he was twice imprisoned in connection with charges of indecent assault dating back to the 1980s.

He was also charged on four counts with producing child pornographic images. In June 2014, Harris was found guilty on 12 counts of indecent assault.

One of the victims was his daughter’s childhood friend, and another was a young autograph hunter, according to testimony during his trial.

Harris received a five-year, nine-month jail term on July 4, 2014. In 2017, after spending almost three years at HM Prison Stafford, he was granted a license for release.

Harris came before the Court of Appeal in London in November 2017 to request a review of his 2014 convictions because the jury had been poisoned against him.

Following his appeal, one of his convictions was overturned, but the other 11 were upheld.

Rolf was released while a retrial on four counts of indecent assault was ongoing. From the time he was let out of jail until his passing on May 10, 2023, he was hardly ever seen in the street.
