Samaresh Majumdar ***** Cause: Bengali Author Died Of COPD

Samaresh Majumdar, a Bengali author who won a Sahitya Akademi Award for his brilliant work and was renowned for depicting the chaotic Naxalite period of the 1970s, passed away on Monday night at a private medical center in Kolkata, according to a representative of the facility.

Samaresh, 79, was receiving therapy at the hospital for his Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for more than a month.

“For more than 12 years, Majumdar has experienced COPD symptoms. We’ve been treating him for more than a month now. His condition has recently been worse, and he was using a ventilator. Around 5.45 pm, Samaresh passed away,” an informant told PTI.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her condolences on his *****, calling it an irreplaceable loss to the literary community.
